@J.Ukrop - Very cool '26 Touring! I grew up in Fremont in the '60s and thought I knew every hot rod in town ... but don't remember seeing Mr. Mack's Tub. Coincidentally ... I started a new thread last night (1966 OAKLAND ROADSTER SHOW ARCHIVES) ... and the photo I chose to post in the OP is of Chuck Brazier's '29 Hiboy ... and Jim Mack's '26 Tub:
FUNNY, I remember Chuck Brazier: says he is from Oakland, but license plate says Washington State. I remember him sitting at the A&W Drive Inn, in Longview Washington in the 60's. Me thinks he was from Castle Rock, Wash. Wonder if he is still around?
'26 / '27's were all steel construction, the earlier bodies had wood framing. The all steel bodies just survive better.
I understand about the wood, but weren't the cowls on the early T's quite narrow? Not saying it's impossible to upgrade, just a little more difficult/ 5# of stuff in a 2# bag kinda thing. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Norm Grabowski built a '24-'25 touring, became my mother the car (TV flop ) probably sitting in a TV prop warehouse, or crushed, like to know.. this is what Hollywood did to this car:
Danny - Forgive my ignorance, but who is John? ... a fellow HAMBer? ... a fellow South Carolina Hot Rodder? ... ??? At any rate, he has a cool tub! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Mine's a '27, currently on 'A' rails...have one left front fender, and one left rear. Considering the ol' '29fenders & running boards trick. Or go fenderless for awhile... Tubs are hot...
Without Question I'm a Tub man. These are more fun than anything you can own. I'm a little biased though From this to - in About 30 days, hence the name : MonTee
