  9. My friend Tim Cantlle's 35 Ford truck.
It is a real 50's hot rod, found as a cab, bed, and fenders, no frame running gear or history.
It is now finished full fendered, 330 hemi, 39 Ford transmission Zephyr gears, 40 Ford rear.

    Just finished

That grille has some serious labor in it. Really sets off the '34.

  23. Nick Lepesh's Candy GOLD Metalflake 1941 Ford Pickup at the 1963 San Jose Autorama:

Nick Lepesh's Candy Gold Metalflake '41 Pickup at 1963 San Jose Car Autorama.jpg
NOTE: Under the hood was an Oldsmobile engine with a high rise manifold and dual carburetors. Body modifications included the dual quad headlights, dog bone running boards and a rolled rear pan with 1963 Impala taillights. The interior was done in GOLD and white, and featured a 40 Ford dash and an Impala steering wheel.

  24. Dave Robertson’s (very heavy) Lime GOLD Metalflake '56 Ford Pickup dubbed "Lil' Nugget" at the 1963 Oakland Roadster Show (GNRS):

Dave Robertson’s Lime Gold Metalflake Lil' Nugget '56 Ford at the 1963 GNRS.jpg

NOTE: The truck featured canted quad headlights, a perforated mesh grille, Cadillac taillights and front & rear rolled pans. The engine was a '59 Cadillac with two four barrel carbs. Eddie Martinez did the Pearl white and GOLD upholstery. This truck is still alive and well in Long Beach, California.

  26. John Gomez’ 1957 Chevy Bel Air Custom circa 1963:

John Gomez '57 BelAir Custom (by Bailon & Winfield) at '63 show.jpg

NOTE: The custom was built in the Hayward, California shop of Joe Bailon. Joe extended and peaked the rear fenders and set 1959 Cadillac taillights into custom bezels. The custom rolled pan with nerf bars and a small grille was a pleasing change from stock. The side scoops mimic the 1958 Impala. The canted quad headlights were set above a tube grille and more nerf bars. Gene Winfield the applied one of his signature fade paint jobs in candy GOLD and red.

  27. The "Golden Pearl" pickup circa 1963:

    Ray Nish's Golden Pearl at '63 show.jpg

NOTE: The "Golden Pearl" was built and owned by Mr. & Mrs. Ray Nish. The truck actually started life as a 1937 Ford four-door sedan. The chassis was 1956 Mercury, the engine was 1957 Lincoln, the transmission was 1957 Thunderbird. The colors were GOLD and pearl white.

  28. @Just Gary already posted the most famous GOLD American Land Speed Racer (i.e., the Summers Brothers "GOLDENROD"), but the Brits also had a very famous GOLD Land Speed Racer.

On March 11th 1929, in front of ~120,000 spectators, Major Henry Seagrave made a 231.45 mph (practice) run on Daytona Beach in his "GOLDEN ARROW":

Ok this is not a true reflection of the gold but y'all get the idea. We have owned this ol jalopy since 1985. Dated in it , watched the moon in it, got married in it , the kids grew up in it till they got too big. You know the rest. Two rebuilds , now the kids and their partners drive it.
