I mentioned in my build thread, that I bought the truck and would post some pix. Here they are.

This is not fake patina. It has a 53 8ba engine that runs pretty good and doesn't smoke, chassis is all painted, stock rear, stock trans, new brakes, master cyl. and C.E. front shocks and mounts. All wired except headlights and tail lights and good rubber on 15 in rims. There are a few rust issues, but the truck is pretty solid overall.

There are dual straight pipes out the back with iron manifolds. Should be a good driver. It's pretty much what I was looking for. I won't be able to give it much attention until I get the coupe painted.

  3. I had a '40 Pickup with holes in the front fenders that had braised in patches in them where the turn signals are on your truck. Wonder if using that light was common back when? Nice truck, IMHO leave as is and drive the hell out of it.

Eventually I'm going through it, fix the body, bed and new glass and maybe put a 2G on it ( V8 Bob said he might have a 4 stud Mercury manifold) and Definitely gets a 1 color shiny paint job.:)

Yep and they have glass lenses, but I already removed one of them and before long I'll have the holes plugged. Inside they are pretty rusty.

One thing I forgot, all the original gauges work. The bed needs a lot of work, but it's going to be OK for now.

they must be a common aftermarket light, I had a customers '35 ford coupe in that had those same lights mounted in the front fenders and similar ones mounted on the rear fenders.

That thing is Titts, I would leave it alone and Slap some Aluminum heads on it and a Dual carb manifold with a Cam and Let her Rip. I love the Look the body is perfect as it sits.

    Ooo, nice!

Although, I think deciphering the wiring may pose a challenge at some point.

Yeah, they are all black. Did u notice the firewall above the battery? There was a fan mounted there to blow air through the heater core.

There are some preservation issues that I'm going to work on soon , but first the lights need to work. I took the one good door glass out last night and I'm going to get another cut along with the back window. The3rd thing is probably rear shocks; there aren't any.

    Wow, that looks super solid.

I dig that rear roll pan.

White dash, black firewall, blue body, what color was it originally?

  22. Very nice!
Could be a great daily driver.
But, that steering wheel has to go................

  23. That truck is killer. I'd upholster the seat to suite the truck better and drive it. I love the Lincoln (?) steering wheel

    Joel,

Was this truck located in Rice lake, Wisconsin? It looks like one that oldcarguy77 had for sale but I think the ad got deleted. I was looking at that truck and it looked like it was in pretty decent shape.

    You did well. Enjoy it!

Thanks. Yes it's that truck and it is pretty solid. The bed needs the most work. FH runs good.

Thanks, Bob, but you guys are supposed to be holding me back:)

The drivers door is black underneath, but the rest of the truck is a light green underneath.

I don't know, it kind of has a 50s vibe to it. I might replace it with a 40 wheel.

If that's a Lincoln and I run across the center pieces, I might keep it.
