Hi. Have purchased a teflon repair kit for the tie rod links for 32 ford. The nut on the left is different than the other 3. Am i missing something?. I cant find an exploded view of the assembly, and doubt it was put together correctly originally. Also. Is the ball link the same between steering arm and tie rod. Best regards Kim mortensen. Yes actually! But still cant figure out the different nuts. Sent from my SM-G850F using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
That plug looks like and old style no insert plug. More like is what is on my 48 Chev than what the Ford green book diagram shows.
What is the name of that green book. I should get me a copy of it. Sent from my SM-G850F using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
The "Green Bible" is the Ford issued "Chassis Parts & Accessories Catalogue (ford's spelling)" issued by FMC and it covers passenger cars from 1928-1948 and trucks 1928-1947. It's available from most major vendors in book form or as a CD. I have a copy of the CD format for sale, if you want that one.
Ok. Hazzled with the ball joints today, as i could do one side. I found that the ball was badly warn, so a new one is needed. However i notised from the setup that depending on how much i tighten the link adjusting screw, i change the toe in setting. And that goes for both sides. If i tighten the nut i do toe out, this cant be a right setup. Sent from my SM-G850F using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
In another way... if i push the wheels through a sand dune they will toe out because they are held in by two springs only... Sent from my SM-G850F using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
