Classic Pasadena homes in the background...some survive, though most were bulldozed to make apartments.

Hadn't thought of Dick DeBolt in years. Shot looks like it was probably taken at Eldora.

my younger brother and me with dad and his '58 pontiac. he wasn't too crazy about that car; traded it on a '59 olds. great story about the olds: he took delivery on the night of a big tornado in st. louis. we drove through a hailstorm and dad's new baby didn't get a scratch! Scan0063.jpg

  12. The first one is not a Buick - pic is not big enough to identify the car though. I see it does have a 'bucket fill' radiator cap.

  17. Until the introduction of the new roll on/roll off ferries in 1962, the only was to take your car from Wellington to Picton, across Cook Strait, separating the North and South Islands of New Zealand, was on the 2,000 ton ferry MV Tamahine, built in 1925. The car is an Austin A55 Cambridge of from around 1957. This crossing took only a few hours. An alternative was the overnight ferry from Wellington to Lyttelton, which still required cars to be slung aboard. A roll on/roll off service ran fro a few years from the mid 1960s to 1976.
