Projects Glass '32 5 Window

Glass vs. Steel...............Does building a steel car make a guy more of a Hot Rodder than a guy building a glass car? I hope not. I thought it was the spirit in which it was built.
My glass roadster is a couple months from finish and I bet on that first drive I will be so giddy I'll probably throw up. Haha

 

Great build! Traditional means working with what you have and I can see you have some serious skills, I'll be following this one.

View attachment 3525542 Looks like very good luck, nice ride, great stance and has attitude. Need more pics. My sister came to visit this week, and we just got a new puppy named Daisy Mae. Needless to say I'm missing my garage time. But I have hope for next week. Need to fab a trans tunnel and mount the pedals.

 

Lovely puppy, what breed? That will keep you busy for a while looking forward to the next update. I'm over the moon with the coup, it s very well built.

Amen, she's a Mini Aussie, about nine weeks old tomorrow. Great fun with a little mess thrown in. Started on my hood hinge, only the tops. Felt good to get back to business. Hope she becomes my hot rod buddy! Finally got some use out of my left thumb, not all the feeling has returned, so I must be careful where I put it, pup bit it, it was bleeding and I had no idea!

I dated a girl that had a mini Aussie - one of the coolest dogs I've ever met. They love to chew...at least that one did. She had some bamboo growing in her backyard, and that dog would just mow down on that stuff. She called it her little baby panda lol. Congrats.

 

Here's a couple of photo's and a link to the build thread by the original builder. Although I love full fendered Deuces, he had it in hiboy for a short while. I can't make my mind up to keep as is or take the fenders off, what do you think?

FENDERS please.

 

Fantastic both ways, fenders or not. Depends what mood your in. I hope mine comes out as nice as yours!

 

The time to decide which way is before its together. It is a heck of a lot harder to build a fendered car than a high boy. I like both but since all that fender work is done, I would hit the road proud.

 

I'm partial to fender less. Maybe I'll change my mind when I get her going, and watch the dirt fly up over the front. Time will tell. I bet fenders will keep your nice paint job intact a lot longer.

Here's the latest working on the hood hinge and pedals.

 

Vacuum wipers are a pain they slow when motor is pulling a hill or accelerating.
And speed up during decel.
I've got 2 speed electrics in my 34 five window. Got them long ago but always work and fit right in the original hole.

New Torque Thrust Vintage wheels. Loved the look so much I got a set for my 2002 S10.

 

I've switched to electric. I am looking for a set that will bolt in to my UPAC header panel, if they exist!

 

Just picked up a 600 Holley double pumper in great shape for $100.00 from a really nice guy in Nampa, Idaho. Like the look and should work well with my set up.

Admitting that you have or are building a glass car is kind of like coming out the closet. you think its going to hurt, but find out it doesn't. Glass or steel they are both hot rods.
