Sounds like you are on the right tune Paul. Most carbs are rich to pig rich out of the box IMO.

I posted on another thread but this is a friend's homemade 351W tri-power upper plenum using a truck lower EFI manifold.


I saw this unusual SBC 6x2 crossram with Edelbrock top plate, appears to be a DZ302 crossram 2 x 4 style base. I've never any others like it since. Chances are that there is someone who might know more about it than me.

 

I pulled this off a video of early drag racing. It just came on the screen for about 3 seconds with no relation to anything. I rewound and thought hmmm, what am I seeing here?

 

I have never seen one of them before, very cool, wish it was mine.

 

Here goes, NOS Edelbrock STR lower intake. I've seen 4bl, 2x4 and 6x2 top plates, if only I could locate the upper 6x2 intake

^That's how Navarro ran his carbs, is that a packaging thing? Very cool setup by the way...

 

I definitely drew inspiration from Barney's 3-71 Flathead. Beyond that, for me it means that all four carb bases are directly over the blower inlet. That means just simple machining to a simple plate rather than a cast piece with a plenum. I still haven't figured out my linkage yet, so there's the trade-off...

Thanks 57dude, you guys are making it great. Thanks for posting and following along. I got the AFR set up for the coupe, and as soon as our weather gets better, (fingers crossed) I will install, start tuning, making modifications and posting induction results. I can not wait for the season to start, I need to make some noise, fry some slicks and scare some people. LOL
