Got my column drop dialed in the other night. Dropping the OG column down lets me use an F1 box and still keep the wheel in pretty much it's OEM location. I'll paint it to match the dash after so hopefully it'll pretty much look stock afterwards.

Here it is before I fitted the cover.

I was out there last night buttoning up a few things but didn't take any pictures. Going to plumb my brakes and finish the pedals next. I'm also throwing all the motorcycles out of my garage for the winter so I can move around a little better. Should start seeing progress reports more frequently.

  11. Sorry I know this is a couple of years old but Titus hit the nail on the head here about the chopping of cars. Stretch the roof and don't lean pillars. Sorry for the late post. Your car is looking good.

  12. Nice job I love the look of the more flat windshield than a leaned back one.

Since I'm not planning on going too radical with the chop my plan is to thin the A pillars. This is the same method @Kirk Hanning used on his friends 32. Works pretty slick as long as you don't go further than 3-3 1/2".... but that's a long ways off.

Messing with pedals tonight. Everything is just tacked in place but this is the general idea.

These are F1 pedals using a repurposed winch bracket from a four wheeler. I'm going to add some gussets and the master cylinder will be spaced back a bit so I can run a vacuum booster.... I'm sick of shitty brakes.

  17. I have not dropped by this post in some time, but it looks like you are making headway on the deuce...Looks like old Andy did a great job on the heavy axle for ya. I like it....Can't wait to se it get a hair cut!!!

Thanks man, yeah Andy did a great job on the axle and I'm still plugging away on it when I can. It'll get done eventually but I made the decision this year that I wasn't going to sacrifice too much spending time with friends and family to work on this project. Plus I have a car on the road already so every time I do something on this one that I don't like I redo it until I'm satisfied, which slows progress.

Tony calls it the Hot Rod Hokey Pokey. I say the Times They Are a Changing, as in another day another way. Stay tuned.

The Chevy motor was a really logical choice, I already had a freshly built one taking up precious real estate in the garage so why not use it? Well because this project is not an exercise in logic. So as was implied a week or so ago I bought an Olds 324 and then proceeded to throw every part I've saved for an Oldsmobile at it. The motor is going to need a little love but the end result will be so much better.

Very cool, you're doing a great job on this build. That Olds definitely looks the part in there.
