This car was posted in reply #100. Are the lower frame rails made of wood?

If you zoom in, you can see that they're metal H beams.

    Hello,

This lightweight T bucket roadster from San Diego had a Cobra motor with these cool looking long pipes and a matching sound to go along with the look. (It was the baffle inserts within the pipes to keep it legal) The Ford motor had an even number of exhaust outlets, making the symmetrical bends and curves very smooth and uniform. Cool looks plus the great sound makes this street roadster stand out from the rest. The (late) owner told me that the cool, curved horn made it legal as far as the California Highway Patrol was concerned. Aauugah...

The wind in your hair, the cool sounds of the V8, the ground whizzing by, what a way to cruise around. This T Bucket was driven all over So Cal to attend those ever present club picnics, pancake breakfast gatherings, car shows, and roadster events.

Willis Ragsdale’s Chevy powered roadster won Little Eliminator at the NHRA Nationals in 1961. The Denton, Texas racer ran this Chevy powered roadster for many years, then built a new roadster for B/Street Roadster class. During his long racing career Willis won many class trophies and Eliminators using Chevy, Boss 392 Ford and 426 Hemi engines.”Raunchy” was never pretty, but always fast.
