Later on you can see they inclosed those balconies, I'm sure parts were rolling off in the beginning, this from the 1920 version of 'Ford Factory Facts'. This building is also known as the 'WXYZ' building by the labels on the platforms. 1920 FFF_0030 - Copy.jpg

The Crosley ad reminded me of our Uncle Frank who owned a Family Furniture Store here in Rochester. Crosley was also known for making appliances which he sold in his store. Back in the day the Crosley people came to town and wanted Uncle Frank to become a car dealer for them. Being in the downtown area he did not have sufficient space for the cars. That is our Dad in the truck and our Uncle Frank in the picture the day they brought a Crosley's to his store for him to check out.

In 1916 during WWI (the Great War), the price of gasoline must have been on the rise- or was there some other reason for concern? The_American_Chauffeur Oct 1916 gasoline prices.jpg

(a hint: Baskin & Robbins was also in this location).

  14. Look at these two album covers closely-What are the chances-that you would have two album covers-from two different sources-one album a single artist and the other album a composition of artists with the exact same models-in the same clothes with the same truck (different poses)on the cover of each album??? I hazard a guess-shot at the same location on the same date- Weird coincidence!

Not real sure where the first 2 pictures were taking, I think the old Lakewood track in Atlanta but I could be wrong. The last one with the bicycles was my friends grandfather Arnold Grogan who raced stock cars and Indians. That was taken in front of his garage in Atlanta, Techwood about 2 miles from Red Vogt's garage

The most expensive photo ever taken, or so the claim Henry Ford made of this one as he shut down the Model T plant in Highland Park and had all 12,000 employees join in, late 1913, before the assembly line days. Do you see an ancestor there? :) 1920 FFF_0077-sma.jpg

I remember being at Ford Parts Obsolete when I was about 15. I asked the guy behind the counter if the "T" coupe on the roof was for sale. He said "if you can get it down you can have it" Of course I couldn't get it down. Somebody did though at a later date. Not sure what ever happened to it. I saw a picture of it sitting in a warehouse s few years back. I believe it was orange.
