This one seems to come up every so often, but that's OK by me. Reminds me of home - I grew up about three miles east of where the photo was taken.

If I'm not mistaken, the guy on the left is George Bignotti who was the chief mechanic and the guy on the right is Frank Catania the refueler.

From my view it's a 368 Merc but of course it could be larger---much larger.

  3. Automobile styles change throughout the years...but those ICE machines look exactly the same today as in this photo.

Love me some Sloppy Joes, brings back memories of my youth in the 60's.
Grew up in a small Willamette Valley town, had a small mom and pop burger and ice cream walk up, could get five small Sloppy Joes for a buck, them were the days, eh!

    Rootie,
That is Harry Hespell's tandem midget trailer. He expanded to 4 cars and a four car trailer the next year.

It's amazing the amount of "progress" that has been made over the years. You could run a fuel car out of one of those trailers no problem and today it takes two semis to do the same thing.

  19. More like at least 1939 or maybe a year or two later. The 38 Buick at right. Centre of the page, going away, a Cadillac Sixty Special(?) circa 1939(?). Next past the Buick maybe a 1939 Chrysler of some sort.
