Does anyone here remember an Anglia named "Maranatha"? Driven by Dan Broguiere (hope I spelled that right).

Yes, @hotroddon, that is the one. I'm thinking it was from the early '70's perhaps, but I always thought it was a nice looking Anglia.
    Thanks

The last I heard a few years ago Zakia's car went from Ohio to California. It may have been changed from black to red again. I doubt it looks anything like it did when Jim built it.

They looked like a set of Marchals, bolted on under the tubing bumper. Pretty cool, i truly thought.

How old is the above photo? Can barely see front of 55 Ford behind the 50 Ford. Also if older than 45 years, where was it taken. Thanks.

Probably not my car, but one can only hope. Picture would have to be older than 1967. And I don't think it is.

thanks 296ardun from a previous post

    Hello,

In going with the traditional thread, besides DND’s blue 37 Chevy, here is Doug Cook’s own Tahitian Red 37 Chevy coupe. It was one of the cleanest, fastest cars in the gas coupe ranks. Every time we saw his car between 1958-60, it was in front of the other racers. It was one of our favorites at Lions. It did help that D.C. had one of the quickest reaction times in coming off of the starting line. (no recorded times back then) But, proof positive was to be right there filming the action. No wonder that the SWC Willys had such a won-loss record.

This car is traditional in the sense that it is not raised in front, although in some portions of the film clip, it certainly looks like it was raised up. Look carefully at the power thrown back to the rear wheels and the effect it had on the rear of the car. Traction, power, quick times off of the line made for a consistent winner. His car looked lowered in the back during the runs. When he shifted, the whole car dropped and upon engaging the next gear, it looked raised up in front again.

    Jnaki

Where is it now? A museum?
