I'm looking for more info and photos on this car, was it ever featured in any mags, I've seen a colour pit shot, I guess Pete Millar's next car was the Chicken Coupe that ended up in England via Sweden

I own this car now. It is the only one that survived from the 3 car team.

This was Al Tschida's car from St Paul, MN. His brother in law was Bill Mitchell. I wasn't aware that Bill was owner or driver of the "612" car but looks like it based on this photo. There was a "331" numbered car with a different paint job that Bill owned ( perhaps the same car?)

Thanks, Del Ray. You've got to be an ex Minnesota boy to know all that.

Bobby, it sure could have been, Raymond Austin, from Hurst, TX, had one of the baddest gas altered in the country. He came to Bakersfield in '63 or '64 (maybe earlier), with his steel-bodied Fiat. On one run the door came open and got pretty bashed, but Raymond just wired it shut, and won class against a tough field...(see if I can't find a picture of his coupe)............Dave

Just posted on George Klass's site...can't read the names on the door, though it looks like Larry Shinoda's deuce coupe in paint (later run by Don Montgomery with a GMC and Chrysler). I don't know if it is Larry's car, but it goes way back, because the photo was shot at Saugus, one of California's earliest drag strips.

Yeah,Raymonds car would never win a neatness award...Raymond was kinda a loner, never mixed with the "normal"crowd..and has never attended one of annual geezer gatherings altho he was invited..I did get to see him regular when he was racing as he bought his parts at our store.

RRanchero Rick, Yes, I was born and grew up in SW Minnesota but left in 1969. I still miss Minnesota Dragway and all the gassers from that era like Tschida, Lutz and Lundberg, Samsel Brothers, Sather Brothers and more.
