    This picture was likely taken before the fateful event at Clear Lake Iowa, where Waylon would give up his seat on the plane to fellow Texan J. P. Richardson (aka "The Big Bopper"), on the "Day the Music Died".

    Bet this '31 3-window caused a lot of double-takes in its day! I've seen a few black-and-whites of this car but never a color shot - good find! Too bad it didn't go into production; it was a handsome car.
