Hello folks, My ford 32 roadster body has filled cowl vent but I feel that something is missing there so I want to put one back in place. I was then thinking of putting something different than the original one for a change. Does anybody has experience with 37 era style vent? Or with any other style? Thanks Arnaud
Some things don't need changed on a 32. If you have a real 32 body, I would get a Brookville replacement and use it. An original body would be more valuable with a stock cowl vent in my opinion.
While Moal ' s dual vents look great , notice the hood louvers. I have found out that a cowl vent and hood louvers do not work well together. Cowl vents allow cooler air to enter the interior and with hood louvers exhausting hot engine air just ahead, it compromises air quality at best and fills the interior with hot air at worst. I learned that the hard way many years ago. Just a personal observation on my part. Side louvers and cowl vent does well. That is why I run a hood top only. Coming home from the L A Roadsters meet this year we ran in 108 degree heat and the cowl vent was greatly appreciated by a on board.
Thanks all for the replies! Been thinking of both Moal options but I want to explore a bit more... It's a brookville body that was originally intended to be used with a Duvall windshield thus the filled vent, I then discarded the idea of the Duvall... Stock vent does sure look right at its place but I like the idea of going a different way... BLUECOLLARKUSTOMS, do you have a picture by chance? Thanks
