    Have you looked into the doorhandles kindig makes? They mount flush into the door.

    Cheers guys!
    Hey Morac41, that's what I'm thinking of doing on mine but I'll use the outside push button lever on the door mechanism to open the door. I just need to work out the best and most reliable way of setting it up.

    Thanks Chopolds! That's exactly what I want to do to mine. Have you done a tutorial on this mod at all?

    Just spit balling here but this is what I've come up with so far;

    I'll use the springs out of the original handles as Cadillac will already be on top of the strength required for the return spring. I will also keep the spring tensioned at the original rate by keeping it at the original handle's length.

    I would like to use a tube down the outside of the mechanism to stop the button from moving sideways but I also want to be able access the internal contents if maintenance or adjustment is required.

    Thoughts?

    Cad, there used to be some more info on how I did it on the old HAMB. I had drawn out a diagram how I did it, and I think "chromed rat" took it and did a 'how to' using it.
    In essence, it is similar to your design. I used a freeze out plug for the door button, inside a piece of exhaust tubing. A bolt welded to the back of the plug, a fender washer on the back end of the tubing, and a hardware store spring inside the tubing, and a nut holding the plug and bolt inside the tube/washer.
