I suppose you would need to define "Bombs" I'm assuming you mean lowriders and such. Lots of sites geared toward that styling.

Well, I guess they are "traditional", but I'm not sure if they are hot rods???

  5. If you mean Bombs like Lowriders, I like em.
They are traditional for So-Cal, I love to see all the G.M. accessories.

  6. Yep I love them because of all the original accessories. Im building my 50 Chevy styleline up as we speak. Ill post some pics once its back on the road and all the accessories I have are on.

  7. Living in the '50's, building your "hot rod", driving it to school, Friday night dates, cruisin' the boulevards and drive in restaurants, let's not forget the drag racing.
A great time in our history, everything to love about it, nothing to hate.
Old School ...... watch American Graffiti on TV. That was the way it was.

I have always thought that calling cars bombs was really dumb.
Just something about it that seems juvenile and somehow wrong.
To me hot rod is more appropriate.

You mean like Gow Jobs, Kustoms (with a K), Flivers, Even the term "Hot Rod". Hey we're juvenile, it's in our DNA.

I like them, '37-'54 Chevies with stock size wheels. Whenever I pick up nice accessories for them I know exactly were they are going to go. Bob

I wasn't around in the 50's or 60's (mostly) so I have no first hand experience. So maybe I am completely wrong (probably!). But I believe what is considered a "Bomb" styling now really didn't come into favor until the 70's or maybe 80's in Southern CA. In the 50's and 60's full bodies cars with all kinda doodads slapped on them simply would be "gook wagons" and looked down upon. If they were modified, they either got a "Kustom" treatment, or just hot rodded.

I personally think they are a good use for all the 4doors out there that are typically overlooked by hotrodder and Kustom guys. Some have some very good styling.

Bomb is short for bombastic, not explosive device.

Yup, completely wrong. It goes back to Mexican-American SoCal car culture just after WWII.
