Hot Rods Question

Anyone know the rpm range of a stock 283 sbc camshaft. Motor came out of a 1961 Biscayne. Thanks.

 

off idle to about 4000rpm...2 or 4brl

 

Valves float around 4500 with a hydraulic cam. You might eke out 5000 with solids.

 

...and if that's the name of that tune, you might want to washer your springs .060"!

 

the stock 283 crank in my small journal 327 has been tripping the rev limiter in my msd at 6800 rpms.

 

What cam?
