. . . is done and printed. I’ll have inventory on hand in a few days and would like to start logging orders now before Amazon and other internet super-sellers squeeze all of the goodness out of the roll-out; they’ve been offering the book at bargain prices for a couple of months, well before the book was printed. Kind of pisses me off . . . That said, the book is a stunner, one that Vern Tardel and I are very proud of. It’s large format (8.25 x 10.635 in.), 208 pages with 531 color and B&W illustrations (with the preponderance of them in color). Most important, the book is an essential step-by-step Bishop-Tardel narrative, starting with the genesis of the Ford-Mercury flathead V-8 and then guiding the reader through the full plot, from selecting a sound candidate, pulling it apart, herding it through inspection and machine operations, and then putting it all back together and ensuring its successful completion. Along the way you’ll learn how to breathe some extra life into Henry’s bent-eight with porting and relieving, plus some neat assembly tricks that the greybeards like Tardel learned decades ago. I can’t compete with the internet giants but I will sell my book at a total price of $36.00 including shipping (USPS Priority), plus something that Amazon can’t provide – your copy signed by the authors. Mike, I loved your bible on the AV8 build but this book is even better. I received mine today and I've never seen a book about ANY engine so easy to follow. Full colour pics make a huge difference. Thanks a million, Mike Parker, Australia.
I received mine. the book looks great!! I wish I would have seen this before ordering mine I would have ordered direct through you.
Is good. Buy. The quality of the photography is an especial standout...even the deepest recesses of the ports are clear to see. The photos of sectioned blocks showing where all the iron lives are better than anything that has made print before.
Thanks for the support, guys. As always, I hope you enjoy reading and learning the story as much as we did telling it!
I rec'd my copy & read it front to back a couple times. Very nicely written and illustrated. Thank you for an excellent book. Glenn
