Can anyone point me at who made (or makes) a trans adapter for a 401 Nailhead to early 3 speed Ford??
There was one for sale last year at fordbarn with no takers http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=149639
Thanks but from experience I have learned that most of them out there are for the 264-322s. The Cragar 0309s. His listing doesn't specify but I have reached out to him anyway. Thanks for the pointer.
I'm pretty sure Wilcap doesn't have one , but I think they do custom adaptors. Probably quite pricey to have one custom made though.
Would it not make better sense to use a stronger period trans (Buick, Cad LaSalle) which would bolt up to the Buick bellhousing or a newer 5-speed, either of which would be MUCH stronger than the Ford box? Just saying.
Thanks but the first link doesn't relate to the early Ford and the second doesn't show one either. Looks like it might be the Cragar 0315 from what I can see from research.
Im pretty sure Offy did. I was looking at one on the weekend, and I bought it but I can't remember who made it. I also didn't take a photo of it. but will email my old man to do so and will post it up here for you ( it might take a few days to get that all sorted) It's set up as a 401 to a T5.
The second link has an adapter shown for the later nailheads....'57 thru '66......to early Ford. Fourth row down, second from the left. Ray
Thanks, totally missed that one. I REALLY REALLY don't like dealing with that guy but might have to do so.
