Things were a lil' slow at the Mopar Show- so I picked a stock-ish Sunbeam Alpine out of the crowd and drew this treatment onto it. The car owner liked it, and it now hangs on his wall.

Nothing from me this week 'cos I don't know how to post pics from my dumb fone. But I like what I'm seeing. Have a happy easter everyone and keep the art flowing.

Whenever I see a picture of an old abandon building I can't help but think about all of the things that went on there over the years and wonder how and when the end will come...Here's one possible story behind this old building.


He stopped by the old club house building to take one last look at the place where his obsession started. The building may soon be gone but those good old memories from his younger days will always stay with him...

 

Car show season finally has started. I spent Wednesday night at the cruise night with my pencils and sketchbook. I had to finish the '32 Ford at home since the owner drove off with it while I was in the middle of the sketch.

Amazing stuff this week, nice variety which makes things more interesting.

Last week I mentioned that I had entered my first ever art show here locally.(at age 66). It was put on by the Phidian Art Club which was started in 1890 with their first show in 1947, so it has quite the history. So my wife & I get to the show the other nite and my entry is the only automotive subject, with every other being scenery, portait, etc; all done in acrylic, watercolor or oil. I was feeling a bit bit out of place but enjoying the show.
The awards started and to my surprise I got the 3rd award of the evening with a 2nd place in the "emerging artist" catagory, along with a check for $75 .00.
After the show I got to talk with the 2 judges who judged the show and received many nice compliments as well as from other artists. Had a great time, very interesting.
