Another update. I hit a turning point where all the hard work is done. It's painted although I'm probably going to re do it in the future it will work for now. I chickened out on the gloss black for now. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I built a framework under the dash, the master cyl mounts sideways under the cowl. I built a cantilever setup very similar to the 90 degree hanging setups you can buy. Pics are probably a little dark . Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
One more update Its not done by a long shot yet but ill let the pics do the talking. This is 4 1-2 years in the making and all made possible by the HAMB! Little update on my build. It's getting close. Odds and ends left and glass. Being we're tightening things up here I was curious. Does this fit the guidelines? Are the tunnel ram and the quick change too modern? In your opinion what era would you date this as? Most of the other modern stuff is pretty well hidden except the alternator and the radials. Well it started out being planned as a little earlier but along the way things went a little off track. It was supposed to have a Pontiac. Tripower and a early olds rear end. I'm still happy with it for my first build, but I defiantly got off track a little
The car looks bitchen. Don't beat yourself up with details. The cool thing is you didn't do anything that can't be easily changed, like your intake. Drive it, have fun and if you feel the need to mix it up, you can. Very few of us are perfect. We all would do things different the next time, etc. Be proud of your efforts..the car is badass.

Been a while since I updated my build I have to finish the interior but for the most part it's done. I took it for the first test drive in early October on my birthday. All in all a great day I put the quick change gears backwards by mistake and had a 5:13 gear in it. A little much, but fun around town! Towards the end if the day when I got used to it I jumped on it pretty hard and a motor noise started right after. Damn can't drive it one day without blowing it up!!! Well after tearing it apart I found a broken tooth on the pete Jackson gear drive. Easy fix got a timing chain. Luckily no damage. And had it all back together in a couple days. Always hate those things but it was in the motor and I was being cheap. All in all I learned a lot and it was a fun build for me being my first hotrod. Here's some pics of it finished up to wrap up the thread. So that's about it until the next build. Or if i finish the interior or a repaint. Looks and sounds killer man. Glad you saved it from the scrapper and had the talent to bring it back to life. Sounds like a mutha thumpa cam.
It's been a while since I followed up on this thread and man, it's a tough looking hot rod! I dig it.
Thanks Brent and Kiwijeff! I have some plans in the works that will make it a little more traditional but I'm going to drive it and have some fun for a while first.
I made some changes to the car over the winter to help with drivability, and to change the look a little bit. There is a thread with some of the changes but I wanted to put the changes on my build thread also. I did intake & carbs, cam change, valve covers, steering stabilizer, rear tires, and exhaust front to back. Here's some pics.

Thanks Between the tunnel ram & the thumpr cam It was pretty ill mannered in the lower rpms When it hit the power band look out though. I think it is actually faster now. And it will be bearable to drive on longer trips
