From the late 50's I believe.

 

I wasn't born 'til '56. My dad might have know about that club, he was in the Igniters in the early 50s, but he's been gone since '99.

 

Yep.----I remember the "Igniters" club too.
Here's our old club jacket from 1956

 

Dad was 16 in Jan '52 and by his 17th birthday in the Marines and on his way to Korea. They signed the Armistice while he was in route there. Happiest day of his life.

Love the attitude of the guy in the speedster and you gotta wonder just what in the hell the girl with the Ford on the center divider said when she got home?

Here's the club plaque 1956

 

^^^ Up a few... the gal with her car on the center divider said to her husband, "Honey, could you help me get out of this dress?"

 

About the car on the divider; I suspect they were towing that puppy on the chain that I see drooping under the front. On the freeway, no less !

Downtown Weatherford, TX in the 1930s, probably on a Monday "Trades Day."

Looks almost as low as Johny Reimers 56 roadracing Corvette.
