Gold leaf, hand lettered , hand pin striped by Ace Fine Line's Dave Dunbar on our dart when we returned it to its original paint scheme. Pic by Geoff Stunkard. We are very lucky to have access to Dunbar's amazing talents up here in Western Canada.

  7. Man... That's a sign painters dream job! You don't even have to make sure that both sides look exactly the same! ;) Not that my work ever does, even when it's supposed to...

Beautiful job, by the way. Stylish and simple, and the red drop shade really makes it POP! :D

  8. I gotta believe there are more than 2 strippers in Roanoke!
Have you tried the Gold and Silver Club?

  13. That's got a nice, loose feeling to it. I'm digging those N's, but I'm not quite sure what to make of that O with the square center in it... o_O

I'd bet that whoever painted this lettered more than a few race cars in his day. :D

  23. they are cheap little brushes with sheet metal handles and stiff, coarse bristles. i put the stencil on, sprayed it with a little paint then before it dried ran the brush around the letters as if i was painting them on. the stiff bristles remove enough paint to get the look of hand lettering that has worn down. remove stencil and hit it lightly with a little scotch brite.

Looks great to me! The only thing I would change is I would scotch-brite and CLR the entire truck, at which point I would make sure to rough up the lettering so that edges aren't such hard lines.

I'm not so sure I posted this up yet...

I painted and seasoned this for our local chopper shop. The truck is a '53 Chevy panel, so I put a '53 Panhead on it.

I wanted the 2 sides to be a little bit different, so I put a '53 Panhead chopper on the other side. :)
