Proffitt's 63 Yeakel Plymouth as found in the 62-65 Super Stock thread . Also, I'm looking for pictures of Hayden Proffitt's 1964 Max Wedge cars.

Grew up in SO CAL so I am familiar with most of those car dealers back in the 50's. Bob Yeakel, now he was a character. What really got me was his commercial for the 59 NSU Prinz. The gimmick was that you could take one of the front wheels off and still drive it around on 3 wheels. I laughed my ass off when I first saw that. And of course he was selling brand new 59 Oldsmobiles.

Yep dealerships like Mike Salta Pontiac, Fletcher Jones Chevrolet, Felix Chevrolet, Frank Taylor Ford, Cal Worthington (and his dog spot). I loved the way they advertised the used cars too. They would always tell the people out there that this car has new plugs, points and a condenser!

Old thread, but still cool Yeakel history popping in:)! Thanks!

My friend who had the license plate frame on his Modell A pick-up, suddenly sold it earlier this year:(! Really liked that pick-up!

Great pictures and thanks for sharing Tom! Also thanks for taking the time to email me with info you have. As I stated before I'm trying to gather information regarding a car Hayden Proffitt campaigned in 64. It is a 64 Max Wedge factory lightweight Savoy sedan. The car was built and delivered in January of 64. I've uncovered many images of his Belvedere Hardtops and a few of his Hemi sedan. This car would have been delivered between his Belvedere and his Hemi. Hayden got his Belvedere in November and his Hemi in June.
Also, Roger Caster also ran one of Proffitt's Yeakel Plymouth Belvedere HT's. There are quite a few pictures of Caster driving the car and one that I have of Sledge after the car was destroyed.
If any one has information/images of Hayden's 64 Max Wedge sedan please send me an email or respond. Thanks in advance.

    Wes

According to records there were 3 SSIII 64 Plymouth Savoy's sent to Yeakel, 1 SSIII Belvedere and 1 Race Hemi. Does anyone have pics of the Savoy's?

  14. Yeakel was the largest volume seller of SSIII cars in 1964.

  15. IMO, Lynn Yakel's chopped and channeled 1932 Ford 5 window coupe was the finest example of the times.
