Ok, so its a boat...Nothing "rumps" like a blown gas burner...Whenever I need a smile, and want to remember what it used to be, I just play this...

Well hell, that's like the first time in the back seat at the drive-in.
It's over way too fast but the memory lasts a lifetime.
I can go to my grave content, though never seeing Willie do the deed I've seen Big Mike have his way with Famosos 1320.
Thanks Gary, now the party's over for me.:(
Doesn't get any better than that.

It's a shame that the offy never got much above idle, the sound of one of those at full yodel is a treat.

To me and the other circle track guys in the crowd the only thing better might be the sound of a novi heading down the front chute at Indy.

I saw Al Sr. in the Vels Parnelli Jones Ford, at Paris Speedway 1/2 mile, about ten years ago. They had the mile gear in it, and he couldn't get it up on the pipe, but when he cleared it's throat, what a sound !

Back in the day most rear ends in that form of racing had a 4:11 R&P and the Chevy powered cars usually ran a gear set that ended near 4:11 on the miles. My boss got pressed into service changing the gear in Foyt's cammer and he said that the gear set he installed ended up north of 7:1.

A J Watson had a cammer in his sprinter and I have no idea how he geared it for the half mile tracks unless he had opted for a 4:86 R&P, which has become pretty much the standard in sprint car racing in recent years.

I always thought it would be neat to have a ringtone on my phone that sounded like a sprinter getting into turn three at Eldora. Bet that would get people's attention when the the phone went off.
