I am wondering what the wildest build ever on the hamb is. Plow boy, little man, and myself have done a few wild rides that were hamb friendly, who else and which one sticks out in the minds of fellow hambers? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
The bug/roadster job going on now...But that's if it gets pulled off and finnished.Other than that- too much tallent here, and we can discuss all day........
I'm not thinking of the most talented build. The hamb has so much talent it's overwhelming. I'm Asking more about the wildest hamb friendly Car. I rember a really cool One built from just a couple of hoods. Then there was plow boys bubble top. I don't know, I guess I'm just hoping for a thread with all of the wild rides so I can draw from them and get inspired. I will post my wildest Ride, maybe start the ball rolling Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Damn. Doesn't even look steel.......it's so smooth.....but I sure know it is. That's bad ass. More please......
One that sticks out for me, would be the El Camino, 60s show rod style, blown and I think, sliced down the middle. It was metal flake green, with no front sheet metal. Sorry I don't have link to thread. Have it saved, but not sure how to find it on the new Hamb.
ya - that's the one that immediately came to my mind too - a link would be cool, I never followed it till
Maybe not the wildest but this rear engine 409 corvair is worth mentioning. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/409-powered-1960-corvair.614530/
My completely hand built torpedo car as seen right here over the last year...But no one really gives a shit...
I don't remember who built it and can't find the thread, but I think the member who built that bubble top custom back a couple of years ago was the wildest. It was kind of like Roth's Beatnik Bandit and it was in Rod & Custom if I recall but don't remember what the name of it was. EDIT: Found it.. Plowboy's Atomic Punk. Thats my vote.
Here it is, in this thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...he-cedar-rapids-swap-was-a-lawn-mower.466562/ That's it, just no doubt. Blows away the cars somehow. My take on it at first encounter... HAMBers must own a thousand deuce roadsters, dozens of really-were-there dry lakes cars, record setting tanks, 1940's sprint cars, World War One fighters, and Lord knows what else. Then we find out that the coolest vehicle on the whole damn board is a LAWNMOWER. It really is. Reality is strange stuff.
The speedster built out of a giant Seagrave fire engine is definitely the "wildest" in my mind. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/giant-speedster-project.468936/
One of my favorites too, when its running ,stand on the exhaust side and it sounds like a hot small bock, on the other side you hear the super charger whine.
The Seagrave Speedster of course, and the Stude Tadpole I love too...but I think that's been deleted.
Littlemans stuff, and his new rear engine dragster does it for me. Plow boys as well. Who had the hemi powered hand formed aluminum 50 inspired sports car build? That would be another vote. After the 32 and 34. I want to color outside the lines! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
The 409 powered corvair is pretty wicked. Littlemans new rear engine dragster, the the Packard powered roadster is also pretty damn cool.
I wouldn't call casneys roadster wild, perfect, yes,but in an almost understated way. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Ed Roth stuff is always the first thing that comes to my mind when wild hot rods are mentioned heres a couple links to a search of some of that style stuff. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=ed+roth+drawings&qpvt=ed+roth+drawings&FORM=IGRE http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=ed roth cars&qpvt=ed roth cars&FORM=IGRE This thread was a great idea.
