48 Hemi, Better read Drj's post again. He clearly states that McMullen had a cammer Ford in his '32 in the 60's. Still holding the CROW recipe.

In the late 60's I went to one of the Long Beach Trident's car shows and there was some version of a McMullin roadster there with an overhead cam engine in it. I didn't take pictures but it had bubbles in the hood sides to clear the engine. Like the small pic the used on the magazine a couple or 20 years ago. Maybe it was only in it for a weekend, maybe I'd taken too much acid. But I saw it. I feel like Fox Mulder right now, gotta have proof of the green men.... sheesh [IMG]

Heres My Injected Mopar 440. Originaly the Injectors bolted right to the head like olds and Pontiac. I made the manifolds so they now set vertically and have 8" tubes on top.I made the oil pan -valley cover -water inlet assy and the headers. This 440 rocks! FEDER

That wasn't the original McMullen roadster... I believe that was #2 with a Gurney motor in it.

    That sounds about right.
    THanks Sam.
    It was long ago.
    It's still a McMullen roadster.
At the time there wasn't a #1 and #2 around to compare and put in the memory banks...
Jeeze, this silly bit of trivia is getting way too much attention. [IMG]

Those ENGINES are NOT low-buck, they would COST more than what I have to BUILD a car with.

    They are AWESUME though

Sam, The engine you are refering to that was in McMullen's '32 roadster was a Moser overhead cam converted SBC not a Gurney motor.

A proper work'd and dressed early Olds, NOT a SBC with valve covers and too many tubes on the headers.... reminds me I need to go get the other top cover for the ealry Olds valve covers I have at home.......
Currenlty thinking 324 with 4 inch bore, and 3x2 Offy manifold running original J2 tripower carbs.... (all currently in the shed, need some $$ for the rebuild).
