I wonder where the boys got the idea for the Lubec teardrop, maybe from one of the popular pulp science, mechanical or sci-fi magazines?

Joe Biden actually worked at Hollywood Perkins Desoto Plymouth dealership in Wilmington Delaware as a teen. He was probably working there in 1957 when my 57 Desoto Adventurer Convertible was sold at that dealership. Funny to think the future vice president could have washed your car.
So much for politics, back to the vintage photos.

Love those DeSoto trucks, too bad they never sold them in North America.

In Canada we got our own variation called Fargo (but everybody probably knows that)

Great image of an early wooden snowplow. Is it from the Framingham and Lowell RR?? (Mass) Or is it a Maine RR?

"Plows were an important railroad item, especially for the northern U.S. roads. Here we see a wooden Fitchburg & Leominster Railroad wing plow needed to clear the line and push the snow well back to make room for the inevitable next snowfall." - Fletcher, David H. 'The Portland Company 1846-1982. Charlest, S.C. : Arcadia Pub., 2002. 41. The Portland Company built this plow for the Fitchburg & Leominster Railroad, January 2, 1886
