It was a joke, Jim, as a reply to the Gulwing Ferrari.
    Sorry.
At least we all should be glad, that it's no Saab.

Is this south bound on I-5 between LA and SD? Sure looks familiar. Gary

    Hey Gary,
That photo looked familiar. But after thinking about the run all the way down I-5, there is only the Camp Pendleton coastline that might qualify. You would have to go at least 500 miles north to get to that particular spot. I have been on that freeway many times when traveling in the bay area around San Francisco.

By the time I was there for a couple of years in college, the Bayshore Freeway was the main thoroughfare to SF from San Jose.

The car originally was a Lister until being totally revamped by them, including a Lister-style body.
And you are correct, John Keane and his boss Roger Ham worked for a car parts place called 'Nuts and Bolts' They had a big business widening steel wheels. Keane said 'I widened the wheels while Roger worked on the race car. When we added the Weber carbs, we had a weird Edelbrock? Moon? manifold- I've never seen another one like it. It put the carb linkage on the outside, so Ham- who was a genius- built a beautiful linkage from scratch to tie it all together...it was a work of art. When we went to the first race, we discovered that the throttle return spring was too stiff, so basically the engine would either be off or run full throttle. Even tho the Chevy had fuel injection before and was very fast, I'd say the Webers unleashed another 200hp. So I went out, in the wet, with this engine either running flat out or off, and drove it with the on/off switch. Guess what- I reset the track record. Nobody was more surprised than me!"
