As to dress code, I witnessed a buddy getting his ass reamed because he refused to tuck in his shirt tail on his button down collared shirt. He didn't have socks on with his penny loafers either.

Remember those heal cleats that were all the rage in the 60's.
    Brand new wingtips and cleats.
Son, I'm gonna have to write you up.

Can't remember Mike when I started wearing jeans. Growing up in the 50's and 60's we mostly had regular pants and overalls. Always dressed up on Sunday and other special days. Being the youngest I got a lot of worn out hand-me-downs. I would agree we probably started wearing jeans in the 60's usually as our play pants. Some even had cuffs. As a teenager I got a pair of tight fitting white Chino's which were kind of like a jean material. I used to wear these kind of pants and my pointed burgundy suede boots to the teen dances. Later I switched to bellbottom pants and paisley shirts.

Same thing here. I don't believe I ever wore any pants to High School except Levis. Or to the last few years of grade school. And not Lee jeans either. Had to be Levis. Pegged. And a Pendleton shirt most days.

  17. We weren't allowed to wear T-shirts to school. I got around it by wearing a sweater over mine. When they told me I couldn't wear sandals to school because I didn't have socks on, I wore socks and sandals! And if I remember correctly, we weren't allowed to wear blue-jeans in grade school.

You don't see those webbed aluminum folding chairs anymore, either.

  23. Damn, I remember wearing cords!
Now it makes sense why I get chased by guys with shovels when I walk by the cemetery.

  24. your right. funny i was going through some stuff in my basement and found a roll of the webbing to redo them. nowadays you just throw the chair away, back then you could re-webb them.
