Bob Nordskog with his vette wearing his Long Beach Boat and Ski Club jacket. the club still exists and hosts the yearly Catalina water ski race, from Long Beach to the Island and back, the overall winners are now skiing it under 48 minutes.
Bob was a boat racer and owner of Powerboat magazine, among other things, and an early hot rodder. His roadster in '36.

We had 500 marines aboard our ship (APA 196 USS LOGAN). Bet your dad was either on my ship OR in the
same troop movement at that exact moment in time.
Was he a sailor OR a Marine?----Don

 

Think I saw this guy in NYC once, but he had his guitar with him.
