    And now post 50001

46th anniversary of New York Central's record-setting high-speed run using a jet-powered RDC as a rolling laboratory. On July 23, 1966, M-497 reached 183.85 mph, an American rail speed record that still stands to this day. According to designer and operator Don Wetzel, the M-497 had actually reached speeds upwards of 196, and was actually de-accelerating when it went through the speed recorders.

Introduced in 1947, the Motorette was manufactured by the Motorette Corp. of Buffalo, New York. The vehicles were primarily designed for use in a mile long aircraft plant but due to their practicality found many other useful roles. It was powered by a one-cylinder 4.1hp air-cooled engine that drove a single wheel that when fully laden would propel the vehicle at 39mph (though it did not have a speedometer) at up to 60 mpg.

Do you have the URL source ?

  19. The back window looks strange because they didn't build a lot of '60 Ford 2 dr sedans and you almost never see them around these days. I think they only built three of them and two of those burned on the assembly line!

The '60 Mercury 2 dr sedans had an equally strange looking back window as well and I'm sure they're even rarer than the Fords.

  20. One of my first cars was a 60 Starliner, remember the "box top" Galaxies but never recall seeing one with that back glass.

OK, you HAMB detectives. What is this car?
This looks familiar but I can not place it. Obviously a good chance it is a foreign job with the Eiffel tower in the background and the multiple position configuration of the top. It appears to be left hand drive?

The guy to the left of him has a lot of service ribbons! Pretty sure it's NOT Reagan (unless it's part of a costume)
