That IS one engine -- GMC cast the block in one piece.

    Why? Because he could:rolleyes:

Just think what it will sound like:cool:

And how much smoke do you want to make:eek:

Would I want one? Not really, but I'd love to see it run!:D

Woohoo whats the redline on the v12? something like 1400 rpm?

    I had a 63 GMC V6 and I always wanted to build something with a 702...

Would kinda look cool if half the engine was up under the cowl. IMHO :)

you guys definitely do things different "down under"

  19. Looks like it works well from an engineering standpoint- excellent workmanship, and beautiful paintwork.

BUT, from a design standpoint, it just doesn't look "right". It looks disjointed.
One would assume that if you continued the lines of the body (through the space where the hood would be), that the grill shell would be alot shorter. A leaned back '33-'34 grill shell might help to reduce some of the visual mass of that front end, and visually connect the nose to the flow of the body..
Right now it looks rather utilitarian- like a tractor (sorry). I think that's what everyone is reacting to.

And as someone else pointed out, it might look cool if part of the motor was concealed within the cowl in a streamlined manner. That would definitely help to integrate the motor into the whole combination.
The exhaust contributes to that disjointed feeling also.

We used a lot of those engines here in tractor trailers. They where a cab over V12 5 spd with a 2 spd axle. Nice to drive allso. I liked driving them. They did have a sound all there own and lots of power.

Does it look weird and longish? Yes.

Is it 'cause it has a big-ass fuckin engine? Yes.

    I bet it sounds great.

I dig it! If this was yet another rod with a v8 we'd all glance for a moment and think wow nice and then forget it. I like cars that evoke a strong reaction even if its negative. at least it aint another sbc

  26. thats what i was thinking
    and a full hood
can you imagine the surprise pulling up next to him at the drags and getting smoked by what is procevied to be a 6 banger

the way that the front sticks out so far i think he should name it Pinnocchino

dare to be different is not a substitute for taste
