Sunday morning, we had the driver's side pretty much pieced together the night before and are working on the passenger's side
Kmember make fire! Kieth did ALL the welding, adapting to what ever machine was available. both Kiethand I brought our welders but with no 220 we were generously offered the use of both the truck owner's and Dabond's machines, thanks guys!
There was quite a difference between the to chops. The 40-41 ford Pick Up was slipped in and marty made short work of it, almost two easy for a man of his skill. On the other hand the 54 Chevy was done by "do it your selfers that were charting new ground" using the cut and look and cut again method. these three guys jammed and were surrounded by a crowd both days. and finished off a great looking job. I kept telling Paul (60's style) that "filler was legal" the car isn't going to need much filler. and the roof line is reet!
NICE JOB guys!! I like the flow of the 'new' roof. J- conrgats on the new chop man... Viva-La-HAMB Tony..
you guys do some mighty nice work! I got some ripped up fenders I'm sure you guys could make like new in no time! some good memories made there did any of you do a chop before or was this a first?
Ol Beet turned metal maniac and kept up with the youngsters for two days and was still standing at the end yahoo! I thought I could break a windshield as good as Beet and I did on the very last cut dammit all this was the first cut
the last 1/2 inch was a hard cut, had I been in my shop I would have taken it down on the wet belt sander. Notice all the crowd walked away after the glass cracked. (no one likes a loser lol)
dabond was in most every photo. he stood watch ready to jump in if these three Master (Baiters?) had a problem, fortunatly he didn't have to take over. Chuck and his son Steven were there all day (both days also)
Looks like a bunch of fun, makes me wish I still lived in Seattle. Nice work guys!!!! Great looking proportions and nice step by step presentation of pictures. TZ
[ QUOTE ] (no one likes a loser lol) [/ QUOTE ] you are a brave man.. you could see the relief in Beetle's face when it wasn't him that broke it! hahaha Paul
