I started laying out the wiring harness. It's a Rebel harness I got from one of the venders here on the HAMB. I mounted it and the Cable x box to a piece of 16ga stainless I had laying around. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1411219238.964113.jpg

  4. I don't know how I missed this thread but man the A turned out beautiful.

Did you accomplish your goal of taking your son to his first day of school? HRP

  5. Did I say first day of school? Ah um I meant the last day of school yea that's the ticket. No with building a new house, shop, and never ending landscaping projects the car was delayed. I will definitely be driving it by the springtime. And I'm going to have it in the two big indoor car shows this coming winter.

  6. The exhaust is done now. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1412301099.673267.jpg
The baffles and turn outs from Gear Drive are $275. so I ended up buying one Cherry bomb cutting it up for the baffles. And since the header pipe is 2 3/4" I couldn't find any U bends to make the turn out. So I found these on eBay ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1412301376.079239.jpg
They were $17. a piece so I figured it was worth a try. I ended up sliding the baffle in with the fiberglass wrap and welding the turn out on to the end. I did cut 4 1/2" off the end of the header first so they are still overall the about the same length with the turn out. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1412301615.149321.jpg
I'm gonna drop them off tomorrow to have them ceramic coated.

  9. Wiring is pretty much done and dash is mostly assembled. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414282507.016415.jpg

I had to cut the glovebox liner down to fit around the frame work for the cowl steering. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414282611.440825.jpg
I had to shorten the box by about 3" and cut part of the top out. It should work out ok to hold some junk.

  10. So I got a set of original knobs for a '40 dash. I got the standard sand colored ones. Is it just me or is it gonna look like penis's on the dash? Think I should get a set of deluxe ones that are dark red, or am I just being fussy here? ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1414288558.817369.jpg

Seriously , I think they tie in to the color in the gauge panel. Looks good!

  13. I thought the color would tie in with the color of the cluster better than the red. Just my filthy mind thinking it would look weird with a bunch of little peckers sticking out of the dash. Lol

  14. I was buttoning up the motor. The valves are all in, lash is set and the heads were on. So I go to put the spark plugs in and they won't start. That's when I noticed the threads are all screwed up ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1415544517.785031.jpg
So I pulled the heads back off and gotta run a tap through them, this sucks. Almost looks like when they were polished they had them on a fixture using the plug holes.

  15. Well I got the plug holes tapped and the heads bolted back on the motor. I also got a OTB breather to replace the stock fuel pump. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1415756590.707319.jpg
Talk about dumb luck, fits like a glove. I also got my headers back from the ceramic coater today, they came out pretty good. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1415756699.848851.jpg
Working on a hidden PCV that goes under the intake now. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1415756787.038294.jpg

Is your 1 / 2 " x 1 " tubing laying directly on your frame? I'm starting to build my frame and I am using yours as a guide.

  18. Yes the sub rail tubing is on the frame. Before I set the body back in the frame I did put a thin rubber strip down where ever the body rails makes contact with the frame.

  19. Snow plow mount ?

  20. Ha ha, I have at most 3" at my house now. My father in law lives 15 minutes away and has 4-5 feet at his house. How about you Phil are you snowed in?

So this is the clock for the glove box door. It's pretty hammered and the only one I could find. I bead blasted the housing and mounting bracket, and got a new face for it. I put it back together today I panel bonded the face and hands back on. I brush painted the hands white and made a new lens out of lexan. It's non functioning but it looks pretty good in the dash. Incase anyone is wondering what the snow references are. This is my father in laws house yesterday , it's even more buried today.
Any who, this is the hidden PCV I did. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1416530089.356155.jpg
The pipe thing a ma jig on the end is a baffle so it won't suck up oil. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1416530165.579133.jpg
I made it out of a old go kart header pipe. I put three disks with notches in the inside the pipe with the holes staggered. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1416530285.922684.jpg

  29. Tudor is getting towards goal nicely, good job with the clock and that PCV needs a patent. Innovative! Btw you guys have more snow than we do, a lot more.

  30. Made up the oil lines that run to the oil filter. I had to make a restrictor in the inlet side of the filter fitting. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1416977631.314810.jpg
I tapped the back side if the fitting and put a Allen set screw in there. I then drilled a .063 hole through the set screw to act as the restrictor. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1416977756.476361.jpg
I used the nickel / copper 1/4" line to make the oil lines. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1416977840.697566.jpg
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1416977854.883231.jpg
I also got the plug wires all made up and the wire looms mounted up ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1416977948.373299.jpg
Gonna start working on making the fan shroud tomorrow night out of a sheet of .060 aluminum.
