  1. I just figured out that you can change the thread title, so I did.

I live about 5 minutes down the road from Mac's, so the other day my son and I went to get some parts for the A.

  3. I went through a bunch of catalogs and found some brake hoses that will work on the car. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1403108431.227395.jpg
I made a couple of brake hose brackets to mount them to the frame. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1403108512.001399.jpg
I used nickel/ copper brake line for the whole car. The stuff really forms and flares easy. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1403108692.167005.jpg

  4. I gotta put 3 unions on the 3 lines coming from under the dash. I'll tie them into the other lines once I get the body back on the frame, which should be some time next week. I have to finish wet sanding and buffing the firewall then it will be ready for the frame. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1403108969.124211.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1403108996.560223.jpg

    Started buffing last night

  6. Firewall is buffed up. A bunch of guys I work with are stopping over Monday after work. We will set the body back on the frame then. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1403230522.030328.jpg

  7. Keep the updates coming fritz, youre doing really nice job there

Got the body set back on the frame yesterday. I had to set the heads and intake on the motor just to see how it all looks. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1403626780.439658.jpg
I think it's gonna look pretty slick when it's done. Gotta work on fuel lines and mount the gas tank back in, then I can put the rear axle back in. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1403626934.564358.jpg

  15. I plan on making a exposed wood headliner like a woody. Similar to this ATTACH=full]2653508[/ATTACH]
For the outside of the top it will be a black canvas insert.

  16. Neat idea, gotta see how you do it. I'm keeping my eyes open for alternative solutions for my Tudor, maybe I can just steal yours:cool:

  17. Steal away man. Just a warning, I'm no expert wood worker. But I do have a cousin that builds fancy book cases and roll top desks and stuff like that. I'll probably hit him up for some tips when the time comes.

  18. Sounds like a plan Fritz. I'd like to fill my opening with ribbed roof from astro van or so, but it seems to be a challenge to find one nearby. Hopefully something useful pops up. If not, I might go your way and use a local vintage mahogany boat builders skills and tools to help me out.

Brake lines and clutch line are all done. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1404051217.196361.jpg
I also painted the inside of the body with Chassis Saver paint. The pedal assembly is all buttoned up also. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1404051336.970538.jpg

Great idea on the headliner. I too wanted that on my model a, but sold if prior to getting around to it. Here is one of the pictures I had saved for inspiration. Love the build. You are super talented. 118_zps41db7f30.jpg

  22. Thanks man, I was thinking of doing the wood headliner for a while. Then a few years ago I seen that same coupe in Detroit, then I knew that's how I wanted it to look. That car is killer with the Lincoln motor in it.

  24. The fuel line is run and the gas tank is ready to go back in for the last time. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1404613611.152475.jpg
Once the tank is back in the the rear axle can go back in. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1404613674.458126.jpg
But before I do all that I want to get the body all blocked out and buffed first. I start out with 800 on a block, then go to 1500 on a block. I then go to 3000 on a DA then finish it off with 5000 on the DA. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1404613944.965532.jpg
    ^^^^^5000 before being buffed.

It's a lot more steps and a lot more time to do it that way. But it buffs up so much easier and it won't die back doing it this way.

I'm finally done block sanding the clear. I started buffing last night, this is the first step in buffing. I have to pick up another buffing pad from work so I can machine glaze it.
