I needed a dropped axle for my roadster project and had a old model A axle sitting out side so I figured why not. I looked through everybody's different posts with all sorts of info, tips and techniques for dropping axle's and different fixtures. After that I got to work and made up a jig and this is what I was able to come up with. Thanks to everyone who has posted on this topic all your info was greatly appreciated.

Nice! My first dropped axle just hurt my foot and make a loud clanging noise.

Thanks Guys . A friend of mine said he would donate a model a axle to the cause. I'm going to make a few changes to the jig and a couple technique changes and it should be good to go, I think. If any one has any suggestions I'm all ears.

Almost hard to improve on that isn't it ?? Very nice proportions.

  14. I like the way the axle has retained the correct look where it has been heated and dropped,,I have seen a lot of axles that have a over stretched look and visually is not pleasing,,you did a fantastic job. HRP

Pure luck or skill, it will be hard to top that axle - it is perfect enough for me!
That is kinda like going fishing for the 1st time and landing a 20bass and wonder what all the fuss is all about.

I think you have us all glued to our screens in anticipation dude. Is it Sunday yet?

Nice job on the axle too. The webs of the axle and the overall shape looks great.
