Nice paint, but I'm really jealous of your anvil.

Thanks. Used to have a blacksmith shop...with a whole bunch in all shapes and sizes. This is the last one left and it will stay with me forever. ;-)

  3. Here is the mess that is going on in my garage as we speak. Did I mention I despise bodywork. The haze is dust from sanding.:(

(With apologies to J. Hendrix, RIP)

Primer Haze all in my brain,
lately my Binks don't seem the same,
shootin' funny but I don't know how
'scuse me while I paint this cowl.

Primer Haze and this ain't fun,
don't know if I got the rockers done
Am I here or in Missouri?
Where ever this is, that paint, put a spell on me.

Yeah, Primer Haze dulls my sight,
don't know why my hair is gray tonight,
you've got me blowing, out my gun
is that the lighting or an endless run?

Help me, yeah, Primer Haze !

I'm just following the instructions on the can. three coats and about a week before color sanding. Won't be perfect, but you won't be able to spot it as a roller job either...

I needed to paint some wheels for a project a few weeks ago, I went to a buddies home shop and got to work. The wheels were detailed, blasted and primed, no sanding was done at anytime, I used single stage. Hung them up in the out back shop, dirt floor, old carpet, with a squirrel cage blowing and 95 degree temps, they got primed and the first color went on. Two days later they were masked and the second color sprayed. The only blem was a gnat that landed on one after they were done and baking in the sun, they came out nice and glossy.

Used their stuff on my truck , it was very thin and hard to cover, it seemed to need to be scuffed and re-shot to get proper coverage

Unfortunately, 32... the only info I have about my Sprayfine is that the 1mm tip is for automotive coatings. Have you tried their viscosity test? It is in the owner's manual. Here is a link - http://www.turbineproducts.com/images/SPRAYFINEmanual.pdf

The best way to handle the TPC stuff is buy a small amount and do a sprayout. Take that to your local jobber and have them match the color. I've done it with genuine 30s colors for years but I used to buy it from Hibernia in NJ. Now they don't sell qts, just gallon quantities. $6-700/gal is a bit pricey for a color sample. Ordering from CA to here in the Motor State is close to $100/qt but when you have to have an exact color for a significant restoration that's a small price to pay for accuracy.

Here's one I did in the driveway some years ago, perfect temp & humidity, no wind and lots of coats of Acrylic Lacquer....and lots of finish sanding/buffing.
it's pretty dusty in the picture, looks a lot nicer in person and clean.
Everything my dad and I ever painted, we did in the driveway. I still can't believe non of the neighbors ever complained about the clouds of paint floating into their yards.
(p.s. , the car's not too far OT, it does have a 283 & T-10 going in, and the narrowed 8- 3/4 on the bench)

Yeah I used it in a touch up gun at first and seemed ok doing some jambs , bolts and stuff but did notice coverage issues then also , I have got in many bad habits spraying thick acrylic enamels also , had a hard time not getting runs , the final time I gave up and had a pro painter show up and spay the final coats ,

it looks good now and the paint seems really tough, but I wonder if I could of got away with 2 gal of good paint vs. 4 gal of tcp global stuff , I had the same problem trying to save$ and used omni red before too

I found the TP turbine adds a lot of heat to the paint and it dries too fast so the medium dry is not the best.
