  5. I was struck by this drawing in a 1929 Home and Garden magazine. It lists the price- you could have bought 4 or 5 Fords for that amount, which explains why we don’t see more of them. I still think it’s great artwork. 26CBBD55-4C58-4C52-A867-0F5A8D99EEBD.jpeg

  9. Here's another one of my crazy concepts of a car that would have been a real eye catcher if built back in the day.

    1949 Plymouth Custom Coupe

    Hello,

We grew up on our elementary school playground playing baseball, basketball and other sports. The everyday activities afterschool were for our school teams to compete on Saturday mornings with other neighboring playgrounds and parks. Sometimes, the parks near our school had some of our friends from our school, but the boundaries allowed that to happen. It was not just elementary school versus elementary school.

We had an older guy that was the playground director. He had several different c0llege girls as his assistants. One assistant at a time until, they usually went away to college or vacation during the time we were athletes on campus. His Plymouth was similar coupe, but we, as little kids crammed into the back seat, so it must have been a larger 5 window sedan with a larger seat.

The old guy smoked cigars and could not smoke on the playground, so when he took us to the games at other parks and schools, he lit up his favorite cigar. We all rolled down every opening we could find while going to the games.

For us, we were not into the dating scene yet, so our other choice was riding with the cute college girl. But, her car smelled with gobs of perfume. We would rather arrive smelling like cigar smoke than a “girly” perfume smell that took forever to get off while playing the other teams. Yes, the opponents did give us the “razzing” just because we had the perfume smell lingering.

As far as the new art drawing, it became lowered to the legal limits, used Dodge/Plymouth wire wheels and low profile, skinny whitewall tires, along with a custom paint and pinstriping highlights. But, the one thing that made me redraw the roof line in front. The stock version had the front lip/windshield too even or high in my sightlines. So, the front roofline was altered to give it a little better sloping effect and make it have some different design parameters.

The final drawing change was the larger rear fender mod to make a smaller wheel opening covered with custom skirts. Inset tail lights, to keep the smooth side view flow. The smaller, lower opening gave it a better overall design versus the large stock version.

And for those that like contrasting flames and pinstriping…

    Hello HAMBers,
I've always though a Renault NN could be a cool dry lake racer with its specific front side.

    Happy FAS folks .

As always, if anyone has a use for any of my old artwork, please feel free to re-use it.
Most of it was "one use only" and then stashed away years ago...you are welcome to use it.
