Congratulations Victor. There is lots of history behind the Peppermint Express. I saw it running at Quaker City for many years.

  6. Different spellings of last name. Les Ritchey and Len Richter.

Edit: fixed typo, as 1320 Fan posted, Les was Ritchey. not Ritcher.

Les Ritchey owner of Performance Associates in Glendora was killed at Fontana in a match race with Hayden Proffit. He was also a Ford sponsored driver.

I've been compiling all the national events, class winners, records from 1959-1971. The 409/380-4v was dominant in the B/S=9.50 class during 1963-64. I suspect a lot of them had the late year "service replacement" parts (?) so they were effectively 409/400s but rated at 409/380, a huge advantage in class.
Great combo, not quite the Beach Boys "409" car but an equally impressive record of national wins/records in class.

The W/P=9.50 class kinda turned into the "Muscle Car" class as C/S=9.50 in 1966.
