I need to do some welding on some trim pieces. I was wondering what filler rod i would use?

I used 308 on sample piece and polished it. I can noticed a slight color change from the weld wire to material after polishing. Trying not to have any difference.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

I trim off some thin slivers of the original material to use as filler when I change SS trim. Helps to have extra trim around, like when you're shortening it, but worse case is you can use a Dremel with a super thin cut off wheel, and slice some off the inside edge.

Thanks for the info. Didn't even think of something that obvious.
