Just got my second Street Rodder in the mail today, and with the exception of Mr Hanning's '34 spread, there's not too much to look at! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
No room; too many ads to make room for. That's why I dropped it some time back. Don't expect much else.
I got my last Issue of Rod & Custom this week and it said last issue on the cover as well as all the write ups inside. The thing that shocked me was it was full of those mail forms asking me to subscribe to Rod & Custom. No wonder these publications are having issues.
I liked the 56 Ford better than the 34. That 34 is built to look goofy to me. But like alteredpilot said, its a street rod magazine.
People are never happy. A few years ago the gripe was with another magazine (that I won't name) stopping it's publication WITHOUT a refund. Now another one has went belly-up and is offering a replacement / alternative OR a refund. Life's too short - get over it...
Yes, When Too Tall Gahnal pick up the pieces in the late '80's. The magazine game is over in the sense of what 'was'. The 'trad' tend has jumped that shark like Henry Winkler, so the billet/monochromatic look shall find its way around again someday. Today you have trolls that use the old mag articles and pix to bash peoples interpretation of the old style builds. And have not turned one tire in such a verbatim ride.......ever.
Just got the R&C "farewell" letter. No explanation, no reason, no nuthin for all the loyal readers.....
Well crap, I ended up with a subscription to Motor Trend. Not too interested in the best 4 door buzz box for under 20K though.
Well over two months ago the word was out and before that key employees were let go. Two months ago was the time to act. Now it's time to end talking about it. IT IS A DEAD ISSUE. MORE TITLES TO COME.
I've been getting Hot Rod and Street Rodder both for my R&C replacement. Not sure why but they make for a few minutes reading and my son likes Hot Rod.Hope they don't switch me to motor trend.
