Just picked up some more STUFF from a vintage JR Fueler that ran /and was world champion in 68/69- last name was Morgan I think.
    Check it out!!!!
1 set of early stack hilborns- set up for gas already- and not worn out ( I always order new linkages/arms- learned the hard way -will order tomorrow)- Also new hoses all equal length.
1 Set of tall stacks- perfect other than 40 years of shelf rash- Will powder coat-chrome/silver
1 Set of early Isky rockers- machining is wild.
1 L155 Engle roller cam and lifters- in dang near perfect shape.( the rev kit was also there)
    Pile Keeps getting Bigger. JOKERS&THIEVES

Decided to edit the title. Working on the Willys and the Prefect.
Finished the main cage on the Willys today.
It's like putting a cage in a foot ball. I hate the way the halo style cages look so we did our own. Within a 1/2 inch of the corners hard to do but is possible. Yes the main hoop is one piece. The door hoop and top cross bar are also above all window openings and the front bar is barely visible from the front of the door pillar.
Gonna put the down bars to the rear of frame and door diagonals next. Mick and I have decided to put two seats I and they will like the cage be NHRA cert.

  8. We always slug a tube axle when we shorten it. It ads weight but it is safer or at least in my mind it is.

This perfect is looking good, the perfects buddy isn't looking bad either. You must live in Gasoline Alley. ;)

  9. Hey Mitchell you should have set a light inside the coupe so your picture could be seen better, love the builds, keep up the great work.

We have a couple of older racers / builders that were very influential on us growing up. Mississippi has several that were really big match racers in early funny / and gasser. Our Uncle Marion Fairchild at Fairchild racing in Hamilton is probobly most responsible for all this mischief. Lol.
Good tip for the inside shots got a couple to add got diagonals and the seat mounts in today. We even followed the NHRA s rules on the floor bar going from main hoop to the front door pillar.
I'll see if pics will load.

Finished cage. And have decided to make the seat. I am just not happy with the speedway seat.We made the seat in pic. The new seat how ever will be a bench seat. It will have dual seat belts and dual head rest. Diagonal bars are fitted but not welded yet. Need to set pedals and column. Hope pics load.

Finally got pics up. Fitting the dash was a pretty good trick , the cross bar and dash bar fit perfect behind the dash. I have to clean up the dash near the top bars .I would like for it to fit within an 1/8 of an inch - will see how my patience holds out. The seat will be full bench, with flared holes and dual belts.Got to get some scap and start some practice beads. Been a while since I have welded aluminum. Hope I didnt forget how.The opel kadet gasser sold yesterday also so we got some more green backs to spend.

Got the basic shape and base of seat set today. Got to take it all out and finish the final shapes of the sides. Fitted the back panel also. Gotta take it all down, clean, and weld it all up.
Also gonna take 1/4 round solid aluminum rod mill a grove then bend and weld around the edge. Seat belt holes will also be added after figment so the can go per NHRA etc etc etc. hope pic loads

Finished welding the seat. All was done while bolted in. Aluminum tends to move a great deal so I thought it better to do it this way. Now I'll take it out and weld the back and underside. Yep. I think I am going to build one for the prefect also only about 9 inches narrower. Lol.

Got all mounting tabs and got the solid rod welded to the edges to give a finished look. And as luck would have it I ran out of argon. Gotta clean up the weld in the bottom.

Yea the down side is that my day job cranks back up wide open Aug 3 so progress will get a little slower. But hey it could be worse.

Got the seat and back done in the Prefect. It is all one piece. Gonna be a bench like the William also. Will form the sides and weld it up in a day or so.

    Hey Mitch

Great find on the injectors, in my day if you did not get your stacks chromed and have the 8 red rubber balls hooked together with a leather shoe lace' The Gasser Police ' would not let you run your car

    Nice Build, Don

Got column and brake pedal mounted today. Dash is even gonna cover so it will stay clean looking.
The cap is glass. I agree I do need to get some little balls and a string or chain between them. Thought about a little diamond pleat black vinyl cover.
    Thanks for the compliments.
