Pictures of traditional T-buckets?

wow fred, that is cool i like how you sunk the floors under the frame. I already wish a had a little more leg room in mine and I haven't even driven it yet!

Here are some pics of my '23 RPU.

I didn't post them on this Thread earlyer because I dont think of it as a T Bucket.

Unfortunately the '23 Roadster body is a little cramped for me ( I'm 6'2" ) so I have thought about selling it.
But then again, I really like how it drives, so I might decide to use all the mechanical components in the '27 T Sedan I recently bought...

 

Not mentioned here yet is Roth's Tweety Pie....

Take away the quad light set-up and I dig it.

I think the big sell for me on these is stance, wheel position and wheel/tire choice.

And the pinstripes that follow all of the body style lines helps make it feel right.

No spindle mount spokeys w/ fat tires out back or it looks like the damnable T-Bucket that most folks cringe at.

I actually think you would WANT to build the "Fad-T", it has a better conotation than T-Bucket does. And the RR was a Track-T IMO.

Then there was Darryl Starbird's Big-T....I dig it.

Sans top it looks like it could use some more stance, but otherwise it's cool...minus the "Big-T" plastered on both sides...

 

Are you sure you don't want another CRA inspired car, to click off some miles in? You seem to speak fondly of the RoachRod...like you miss it still...

that last one is cool. what about that one from "hot rods of the 1950's" book i think it was called luscious t-bone?, actually there are a bunch of cool t's in that book

 

This is my old mans. Sits right for a T in my books and its a standard A chassis no Z in the frame.

 

Here's one on the front cover and that's Mr. Grabowski in the tub.

I remember that t....is your brother fairly young? Like 16 or so? Did he have it there in '05 as well? I think I talked to him. Small world!

Yes, thats him, he just turned 18, You must have been with Matt, yeh, we had the T bucket up there in 05 also.

 

The Isky T is awesome but I also love Blackie Gejeian's T. Both have a unique and memorable style that is far removed from the Fad Ts of the 1970s. Just did a search online for a photo but surprisingly little is showing up.

A friend of mines bucket. T- frame, old aluminum buick 215" I think and model a rear end.

 

Here's mine. Originally built in 68'

 

Kevin T bucket refered to the shape of the cocpit on a '23 and earlier T that wasn't a touring car. It seems to me that the body of choice on the Bucket type of body was the '23 but a lot of 20-22s got built over the years also.

Yea, 2 place Roadster was a Bucket and the touring was called a Tub.

I think the Tommy Ivo car was the epitome of the "T-bucket" or "Fad-T" (almost interchangable terms) profile and stance in my book, for the one's with a pickup box on the back, with a little lower rake in the back with a tad longer wheelbase in the rear looking right with a turtle deck.

 

Two that looked really good but I don't have a pic or know who owned them:

1. The one parked at Acme Fallout Shelter Co. in American Graffitti (owner in the movie was the "Later...Alligator" guy).

2. The one in a episode of Happy Days, white with red scallops. I think it was the episode in season one where Ritchie sneaks out of the house to flag a dragrace.

And, a guy that I knew in high school had a nearly perfectly proportioned one that was yellow with a SBC. His "other" car was a strip-only gasser style '40 Willys PU! What was that guy's name.....
