Congratulations on your 53.. pretty good looking car... Here's my dad's 54 he had back in the late 60's.. unfortunatly it got hit by a druck driver while it was parked out in front of the house... I've still got the 428, and top loader 4 speed out of it in the garage... I've always wanted to find another 54 and build one just like it for him...

    Jason,

Just noticed this thread!! Congrats on getting your first car!! I had been wanting an "old" car since I was about 10. Im 30 now and I finally have my own! I dont know if you had seen my build thread on my 54. BUt check it out. The two cars are pretty similar! Great to see the young generation getting into these old things!! HAHA!! I am one of two in my car club to have a 54. The other guy here on the HAMB is slim53. We are both locally in the Twin Cities. If you need/want help on something let either of us know! Would be happy to help out.

I posted the link to my build and some photos of my 54 and Slim53's. Mine is the hardtop, and his is the coupe.

Keep up the work and dont burn yourself out!! If something is frustrating you, step back and take a night/day/week off from the project. Sometimes time off is the best thing to stay motivated to work on it!! Good luck!!
