A day to cut, and drill.......I need to remove this bar, and the battery tray, but I can't use my grinder because the new neighbor car is park to close, I need to wait when he move.....one day:mad:. With only a saw and power drill......

Drill the sub frame with no space, not enough strength:confused:, and I'm surprise because is a very thick metal frame....

Why do this now? I don't know yet where the engine fit exactly, but when the engine will be in the right place, I will not be able to drill the frame, lying on the ground....so I have decided to imagine where I can bolt my new home made motor mounts.... And I have not really a lot of possibility......6 holes, a day.....o_Oo_O.

Bad weather announced, 5 days rain....so today, with no space, and never move the neighbor scooter.....

It's not the final place, but my oil sump modification seems to be good.

The gearbox is bolting on the engine.

It looks right at home. You do some really good work, especially considering the conditions you have to contend with. Thank you for sharing this journey with us, and look forward to every new entry.

Well, after the rain, the sun:), I continue the work.....
First, I must find the correct place for the engine.....let's try.....

With my street on slope, it's not easy to be sure of the final result....I cannot work under the car, so with my smartphone camera, I control if the gearbox is more or less aligned.....I have put the lens of the camera in the middle of the axis of the gearbox rubber flector...to see what it does....

It's not bad.......I can up and down easily if I need....

    The place of the starter......narrow.......

Does not pay attention to the electricity cable, it's just a testing. The starter is bolt....

On the other side, the fuel pump is not usable, the input line is undero_O

The direction bar is ok.....my neighbor have buy some bread, in 5 minutes I have cut the battery tray;);)....it's not the time of finishes:confused:

    Global look with ugly parts....:p
    [IMG]

I gonna remove the fuel pump (maybe an electric, or a new one with different input/output line places, and a hole in the wing) tomorrow I can build my engine mount:cool:.

Funny you say that, on my Volvo I run an Electric Fuel pump, and asked my dad what was the hot setup when you was young.

Early one was SU fuel pumps, from something British, they just bought them that was available at the DOMI-dealership.

Because aftermarket ones was junk, but SU was OEM/Factory parts.

Well, after checking the price of the really good electric fuel pump (not that crappy Chinese things that we find on the web;)), I realise that I have not enough money to buy something really serious. I have to pay attention to my budget, so I have decided to buy another mechanical fuel pump, Purflux Sofabex (French Valeo parts), 15$, more shorter than the original, and for me, with the perfect input output fuel line location. It's ok.[IMG]

I'm busy to do the engine mounts....with some bits of steel.....:)

Work in progress......you can see also the new oil sump form, on the top of the front axle crossmember:cool:

When I'm sure when everything is ok, I will make nice welds and good lookin' finish. The black paint it's because the car is outside (for new readers :p ), and it's raining every other day, it's just to protect the surface from the rust.

I tried to put the car on 2 cinder blocks, but with my sloppy floor, it's not safe to work under and drill the frame....so I went to buy this.....

I wanted two cheap, but no pair available in the shop...2 weeks waiting..., anyway, I need a pair now, so one cheap, one strong (this sucks:().

It's better like this........tomorrow, I try to install the gearbox crossmember.

Once again, determination and ingenuity pay off. Just be sure that you have a wheel chock behind the rear wheels.
