Walter... I'm the same way with fasteners, bolts, and their finish...but if you're not Anal, stuff ends up looking like 'ass'! LOL
Very thorough, well planned job. Car is perfectly 'set', engine, trans, cross members, etc.
This is a 'textbook' period hot rod, details correct to the Nth degree.
    Thanks for so many details...

Started to fit the hood. Time for shimming the body. The hood fits like socks on a ROOSTER!! It fit almost perfect in primer I thought I marked the shims but I evidently didn't. Oh well I guess I will get more practice.

Good luck aligning the hood. Mine was a pain in the arse, but I got there eventually :)

  5. What a great roadster! Thanks for sharing the build.
BTW, the video was killer! One of you grabbing that plug wire really made me laugh (been there). Give an update when you can.

That was me arguing with the plug wire! I hate it when that happens!

Well it may not look like much but my 4 hours of shimming and things are starting to fit. Going to take a break and go to Dewy to the Stray Cat and enjoy others rides. Next week i will have a little different perspective.

Back on alignment of sheetmetal.today Doors fit and latch great. After a nice day at the Stray Kat I came home and worked until midnight and then put in about another 2 hours today. Going to lower the Radiator a little to help hood to cowl fit. It seems to take a long time to do simple things.

Finally finished fitting the body at least until I put a few shake down miles on it. Received the fuel tank yesterday and it looks like it will fit as planned. Hot Rod Company sells great products. I am very happy with the quality. That's all for now!

Beautiful! How far back did you set your motor mounts? I'm doing the same thing but I'll be keeping my motor 100% stock for the look.

From the center of radiator bolt to the center of the motor mount bolt is 5 inches.

Steering column drop finished. Original 39 switch will be used to ignite the coil. I was able to save the locking column.

A little progress on the roadster. Tach rewired, throttle pedal assembly, and choke assembly built and ready for Plateing.

Not much has happened the last couple weeks. have been waiting on windshield parts to come back from the chrome shop. Good company they just have a screwed up calendar (5 weeks was the schedule but now going on 10 weeks) I decided to move forward and start wireing. I have done the worst witch is routing battery cables. I had to brush up on soldering and routing.

In the words of Ryan wiring is boring. Slow going. I'm trying to write a schematic as I go that is color specific. Trying to route everything correctly is a challenge as well as crawling in and out from under the car and under the dash.

After a lot soldering, stringing, and planning I finally have high and low beam, start system is really close (I spent several hours trouble shooting a defective solenoid), and close on the charging system. Slow but Steady!!

Well I did it again! I bought a great turn signal switch and spent two nights wireing it only to cut the switch shaft about 3 hairs to short. I can't see any way to repair so I guess I will order another one and wait for it to come. I have plenty to work on until the new one comes. I seriously have contemplated no turn signals but its much easier know than later.

Brief update! Securing wire looms, working on master disconnect, and mounting and wireing fuel pump. Went to Ace Hardware for a few clamps and chrome bolts. $82,00 and everything I bought fit in my pocket. That little stuff really adds up.
    Thanks for watching!

Wireing is 99% done. Turn signals, lights, charging, and start circuits.
