I'm trying to cross reference a Motorcraft part number for a PCV valve but I'm not having any luck. The PCV valve part number is # C4TE-6A666-B
google might help ...? many to choose from http://www.ebay.com/itm/1962-1967-F...1AZ-6A666-A-/381541923014?hash=item58d5abb8c6
I think that prefix would be '69 ford truck, but it could have been superseded. It should still get you what you need.
The letter at the end A or B could mean a different part What are you actually trying to do? where did the number come from? do you have a valve and want to know what it fits, or are you trying to replace it? what is the application, or don't you know? is the valve threaded or does it fit into a grommet?
Well it's going on a 1963 Willys F-134 engine. I know that is not right for this forum but I know it's the best for information. Here is a picture of the one I'm looking for it's right above the distributor on the left.
I tried to buy this one but he does not ship to Alabama for some reason. http://www.ebay.com/itm/25225709521...1&exe=11473&ext=27979&sojTags=exe=exe,ext=ext But I found this one that is similar but has a different letter on the end. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-PCV-Val...ash=item33a19736b4:g:a9MAAOSwymxVOvVs&vxp=mtr I found two that are marked C9TE-6A666-A on the box but stamped C9TE-6A666-B on the part. There is no way to tell if it could have been placed in the wrong box years ago. But the price is to steep for me. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-1962-1...ash=item2362952f34:g:mw4AAOxyi-ZTYu6p&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-62-63-...ash=item33a18db1bf:g:zKMAAOSwEeFVOku~&vxp=mtr
C4TE-6A666-B; C4 means it's a '64, T stands for truck, and E for engine group. If the E were a Z, it would be a service replacement part. The 6A666 is the 'basic' number for any Ford PVC valve of that era, the B is the first revision. The threaded type weren't used very much after '64 so can be very difficult to find. You might try the Ford dealer and see if they can cross it into something that may be currently available. But are your sure it's even the right one? They were more-or-less identical, but there is a slight difference in the spring tension that operates the check valve. Now, doing a search for '1963 Willys PVC valve' turns up several vendors, but not quite the same design so you may have something that the PO substituted for the correct one. Here's a guy who lists a 'correct' NOS valve for this motor... http://www.kaiserwillys.com/product/2314/willys-jeep-exhaust-manifolds-parts-accessories . Here's a cheaper one... http://walcks4wd.com/crank-case-ventilator-valve.html . Note that both are threaded on both sides...
or just look up the part for a 64 ford truck, and buy it from rockauto. not a big deal. http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1964,f-100,4.8l+292cid+v8,1333820,emission,pcv+valve,5052 .
I don't recall even my '68 F truck having a PCV. LOL Just seemed early to me is why I asked. I know my '65 FE had the PCV that looked like a rocker cover breather. Why wouldn't that be right for the forum? That bugger would bolt right in a Model A and is closer to being the right era that most of the engines in my stable.
Just because they were installed on all new cars starting around 1962, doesn't mean they stayed on all cars since around 1962. Lots of guys have no clue what a PCV valve does, and think it is something evil.
You mean this haha http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fram-NEW-PC...010a4bc&pid=100011&rk=1&rkt=2&sd=161570834004
