OK, page 2. Now on we are in real-time.

Design of the rear corners. This phase I have planned for a long time. I don't have any top professional sheetmetal tools, such as English wheel or a shrinker-stretcher etc.

So the old school methods are used. Shape with a round rod and double-curved sheetmetal is hammered in between. It worked out well and it looks as it should.

Found me a cool aluminum tank but I cannot fit it in. I tried everything and made even more room but no, it is too big. ☹️ So I sold it and it goes now into a Model A Roadster which has original frame so it should fit. Now I need a new tank again.

One step back and two forward. I must say I’m really happy how this corner turned out considering all welding and shaping!
It’s still rough and needs grinding but you can definitely see the Coupe look in there.

My doors are so miserable that I don’t know if I should laugh or cry. I think if I just keep tinkering them every now and then, I will eventually have a pair of decent doors.

Tonight I fabricated the bottom section on the driver’s door and it turned out pretty well. Considering it was all long gone.

Like a sapling growing from the earth, the change of seasons bring growth.
Although instead of rain and sun, you bring hot metal and muscle. :D:p

Today I welded and filled some holes, ground some rust and adjusted the door with grinder, welder, and a big hammer. Rust grinding is dirty job but very rewarding.

Nice save! I have the top of a '29 coupe door somewhere...if you can figure out shipping it's yours

Thank you! I appreciate. However, it might not be worth to pay expensive shipping/air freight for one door top. It is tempting, but maybe I just keep this train rolling and keep it going.

Edit. Could you check how much would it be to send it to Finland?

Yes! My thoughts exactly. I have realized that even sandblasting and body filler may destroy part of what this car actually is/was. I need to figure out how to do it. Definitely some ”patina” needs to be preserved in this car.

This weekend we have a Kustom Kulture Show here in Helsinki. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw what one of the artists had painted! It is so close to my car! I even asked the price but of course the large paintings like this became quite expensive.

    Thank you!

Driver’s side is almost done. Of course lot of work still left but the major gaps are done. Especially if you compare what it was.

I will never complain about the state of my panels after seeing what you have to work with. You have literally created panels out of nothing. The roof panels in particular really stand out.

I can’t wait to see how you create the quarter panels.

Driver’s side quarter panel is pretty much done. Here’s a picture of it. However I hammered it quite heavily after this picture to get it aligned. So now it looks better. I realized that it was too much inside and needed to come outwards a bit. Note the ”dent” in the middle. I will post more about the other side which will be next.
